How We Serve The Community
The Gerling Law Great Helmet Giveaway
Since the program’s inception, Gerling Law helped give away over 7,000 bicycle helmets to children in the community, including the 4th grade class at Tekoppel Elementary School. Each year, there are thousands of bicycle injuries that could’ve been avoided if the rider was wearing a helmet. Helmets reduce the risk of head injury by at least 45%.
At Gerling Law, we believe in investing in our community, and that starts with ensuring kids are safe.

Serving YWCA Evansville
Gerling Law has supported the Evansville YWCA mission with donations throughout the year and around the holidays, including support for fundraising events by purchasing tables, contributing to fund any needs, and donating auction items.
For many years, Gerling Law has helped make the holidays much brighter for the women living in the YWCA building with the donation of themed holiday gift bags. Each resident receives a bag full of gifts to bring joy to their lives.
We also helped remodel a family room in the YWCA domestic violence shelter. This updated space has helped many women and children heal and rebuild their lives.

Recycle Bag Giveaway
Every year since 2008, Gerling Law has distributed over 21,400 bags to the community through organizations like the YWCA, the Tri-State Food Bank, and the Homeless Coalition. These recycled bags contain essential items for the recipients including personal hygiene products and other necessities.
Through the Recycle Bag Giveaway, Gerling Law has partnered with over a dozen organizations and events that serve different communities. Below are some of the other organizations we have supported over the years:
- The Evansville Christian Life Center,
- Keep Evansville Beautiful,
- National Night Out,
- Baptist Minister Wives,
- Run of Luck,
- MHA Vanderburgh County Ride for Recovery, and
- VA Medical Center – Stand Down for Homeless Veterans.

Go with Safety – The Gerling Law Sober Rides Program
We’re committed to safety in the communities where we work. That’s why we’re offering to help pay for sober rides on certain holidays!
It’s always fun to celebrate with friends and family on holidays, but drinking and driving is never the right choice.
When you use Uber or Lyft for a safe ride on certain holidays, we’ll kick in $30 to the ride. Learn more here…
